The Afrosiyob from Tashkent takes two hours and sells out. Buy early; here is how.
The high-speed Afrosiyob covers Tashkent to Samarkand in a little over two hours, several times a day. It is comfortable, punctual, and in spring and autumn it sells out four or five days ahead.
Buying
Tickets open 45 days before departure on the railways website and in the app, which accepts foreign cards more often than it used to. If the site refuses your card, we can buy the ticket for you at the station and add it to your bill — send us the passport details of everyone travelling, since tickets are named.
Which seat
Economy is fine; business buys you a wider seat and a sandwich. Sit on the left leaving Tashkent for the better view of the steppe.
Arriving
The station is about twenty-five minutes from the house. Tell us the train number and we will be on the platform.
